Personal Attention
Because the 12 Palms Recovery Center only accepts about 30 clients at a time you'll never have to worry about your treatment getting lost in the shuffle. Our real recovery program provides one-to-one therapy sessions with certified addiction professionals, many of whom are recovering substance abusers. We also offer group therapy sessions with no more than 5 clients at a time, making opening up about the realities of your own abuse less intimidating.
Group therapy benefits our clients in three ways. Clients learn they're not alone in struggling to kick self-destructive behaviors. Once they begin to share their own experiences they realize how their addictive behaviors may have harmed those they love and respect. And as they explore their own pains and struggles, they begin the journey to recovery — the real recovery that 12 Palms is uniquely equipped to provide.
Sharing Our Experiences
Many of the 12 Palms Recovery Center staff are recovered addicts and alcoholics themselves. During group therapy, it's not uncommon for counselors and therapists to open up about their own experiences, struggles and victories on the path to sobriety. In this way, our compassionate and empathetic staff demonstrates how living a sober lifestyle isn't just possible, it's preferable.
During this group therapy process our counselors and therapists teach the tools and resources necessary to build effective coping mechanisms as well as the resiliency required to live life in the outside world. And because we believe that an effective therapeutic approach is a practical approach, we allow access to laptop computers, cell phones and family members. At 12 Palms, our clients learn how to manage these relationships without the crutches of alcohol and/or drugs.
