Extended Care Addiction Treatment at 12 Palms Recovery Center

Relapse can be a common theme with Drug Addicts/Alcoholics. To prevent this unnecessary part of recovery we offer the opportunity for clients to learn life skills, continue formalized education, enhance physical well-being, and recover from the detrimental effects of chemical dependency. Generally speaking, alcohol rehab and drug rehab take considerable time and it requires diligence to achieve and sustain recovery.

The extended after care approach to the treatment of drug/alcohol addiction consists of a collection of strategies intended to enhance self-control. Specific techniques include exploring the positive and negative consequences of continued use, self-monitoring to recognize drug cravings early on and to identify high-risk situations for use, and developing strategies for coping with and avoiding high-risk situations and the desire to use. A central element of this treatment is anticipating the problems patients are likely to meet and helping them develop effective coping strategies.

Longer Treatment Ensures Success

These coaches understand the various triggers that can lead to relapse and guides the recovering patient to stay with the after care program designed for each individual.

Each plan is designed around the patient’s work and living arrangements, commitment to the 12-step program, regular consulting with a sponsor, teaching them life skills such as financial planning and budgets, how to eat healthy and adapt to a fitter lifestyle. The end goal is to reestablish self-worth and willingness to abide by a more positive lifestyle. Our success rate hinges on the follow-up care in recovery and to avoid an unnecessary relapse.
